Why we started
Tegis started with a business partner who writes lockout/tagout procedures for industrial clients. The software options they found were too much for those clients: expensive, and priced with markups that squeezed the margin out of every project.
When a client would not pay those prices, they went back to paper. That meant our partner spent weeks writing procedures for a single plant. Once the binders were out on the floor, they were hard to update and harder to manage.
We built Tegis working side by side with that partner to fix both problems: a fair price for what a project actually needs, and procedures that stay easy to update after they are in use.
What we build
Less time writing procedures. More time implementing them.
That is what we want Tegis to be known for. In practice, it covers the full life of a procedure:
- OrganizeGroup procedures by company and site.
- DocumentRecord each machine’s energy sources, isolation devices, locations, verification steps, and photos.
- ApproveAn admin approves the procedure. Editing a step sends it back to draft until it is approved again.
- Link a QR codeAttach a QR label to the equipment and link it to the approved procedure.
- Use itWorkers scan the code and read the procedure in a browser, with no account. Or print the PDF.
How we build it

- We design features with the consultants who write procedures and the floor personnel who follow them at the machine.

- Changes are tried in working plants, on real equipment, before we call them done.

- What we build next comes from customer requests, not a feature checklist.

- Write procedures for many client facilities from one account, then hand each client its workspace.
- Facilities
- Control their own workspace and data, keep editing after handoff, and decide which consultants have access.
- Technicians
- Scan the code on the machine to read its current approved procedure. No login, no app.
How we charge
A fair price for what you need. Consultants keep their margin, and clients are not paying a markup that pushes them back to paper.
- Facilities
- Free for 10 procedures. Starter is $80/month and Pro is $300/month for larger libraries and more sites.
- Consultants
- $10 activates one client procedure for 10 years, including continued editing. Separate from monthly plans.
What Tegis is not
- Tegis does not write procedures. Independent consultants do that work; Tegis supplies their software.
- An approved procedure is a document status. It is not a record that a lockout was performed or a compliance certification.
- A printed PDF is a snapshot. Reprint it after the procedure changes.
- Opening a procedure from a QR code needs an internet connection.
